As you and other ministry partners help place God's Word into the hands of our servicemen and women, notes of gratitude continue to pour in. The following recently arrived from an airman:
"[An evangelistic] class provided a Deployment Kit containing a mini-Bible and an Our Daily Bread (for military folk) which I started reading everyday while I was in Basic Military Training and even after I graduated . . . When I got [to Lackland], I got a new one and I've read it everyday in Tech School. You basically got me into reading the Bible everyday, man! . . . THANK YOU! What you do has made a difference for at least one person."
Your support and prayers have indeed made a difference—in the life of this airman as well as many other service members. In fact, with the help of ministry partners like you, more than 1.9 million Rapid Deployment Kits have been distributed since September 2001. And we anticipate hitting the two million mark by the end of the year as our Military Ministry continues to receive numerous requests like the following:
"I am part of a church plant that is by a military base that is a debarkation and embarkation installation for the war. How can I get my hands on some Rapid Deployment Kits? . . . We could really use them."
Including shipping and distribution costs, it still takes just $3.25 to get each RDK—with the pocket-sized New Testament, Our Daily Bread devotional, and evangelistic booklet—into the hands of a service member.So your gift of $52 would provide 16 RDKs; $130 would help provide 40 RDKs. A greater gift of $650 (200 RDKs) or even $1,300 (400 RDKs) would help reach even more troops for Christ. You can also choose "Other" in the "Give Now" menu above to enter another amount. Any gift that you could give would do so much to share God's Word with soldiers who are looking for real comfort and hope.
